Ikan Kembung Bakar (Grilled Mackerel)

Ingredients

4 pieces Mackerel (Ikan Kembung Puring)
To taste Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)
Spice Paste:
10 cloves Shallots (Bawang Merah)
7 cloves Garlic (Bawang Putih)
2 pieces Candlenuts (Kemiri)
2 inches Turmeric (Kunyit)
1 inch Ginger (Jahe)
To taste Red Chili (Cabe Merah)
1 teaspoon (optional) Coriander (Ketumbar)
To taste Sugar
To taste Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Clean the mackerel thoroughly and make shallow cuts on each side. Squeeze lime juice over the fish and set aside.

  2. Make the Spice Paste: In a pan, heat some oil and sauté the spice paste ingredients until fragrant and cooked through. Add sugar and salt to taste, then remove from heat.
