Ground Beef Filling for Fried Bread

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 shallots, sliced
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Sweet soy sauce, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt and sugar, to taste
  • 125 milliliters water
  • 1 tablespoon flour, dissolved in a small amount of water

Instructions:

  1. Sauté Aromatics: Heat a pan over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and sliced shallots until they become fragrant and turn golden brown.

  2. Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef changes color and is fully browned.

  3. Add Seasonings: Stir in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, white pepper, black pepper, salt, and sugar. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the seasonings.

  4. Simmer: Pour in the water and stir to combine. Cook until the mixture is well-blended and the flavors meld together.

  5. Thicken the Mixture: Before the liquid evaporates completely, add the flour mixture to the pan. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens but remains slightly moist.

  6. Finish and Serve: Stir in the finely sliced green onion and cook for a brief moment. The filling is now ready to be used as a delicious stuffing for fried bread.
