Indonesian Stir-Fried Chicken Heart and Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 chicken heart
  • 1/4 yard-long beans (kacang panjang)
  • 1 carrot
  • Seasonings:
    • 7 shallots (bawang merah), thinly sliced
    • 4 cloves garlic (bawang putih), thinly sliced
    • 3 bird’s eye chilies (cabe rawit)
    • 2 curly red chilies (cabe merah keriting)
    • 1 sachet Saori seasoning
    • Granulated sugar
    • Soy sauce (kecap)
    • Chicken broth powder (Royko ayam)
    • Salt
    • 1/2 tsp cornstarch (maizena)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the chicken heart thoroughly, then boil until cooked through.

  2. Prepare the seasonings: slice shallots, garlic, and chilies thinly.

  3. Heat a pan and sauté all the seasonings until fragrant and wilted.

  4. Add the chicken heart, stir-fry briefly.

  5. Mix in Saori seasoning, salt, sugar, chicken broth powder, and soy sauce according to taste preference, aiming for a slightly sweet flavor.

  6. Pour in 1/2 cup of water, stir briefly.

  7. Lastly, add cornstarch, stirring until the mixture thickens and cooks through.

  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
