Tahu Telor Sayur: A Delicious Indonesian Tofu and Vegetable Delight

Tahu Telor Sayur is a vibrant Indonesian dish that harmoniously combines the richness of tofu with the freshness of vegetables, making it a perfect choice for a healthy meal. This recipe is not only easy to follow but also offers a delightful flavor profile that can please any palate.

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Yellow tofu (small) 6 pieces (or 1 large white tofu)
Carrot (shredded) 1 stick
Green onion (thinly sliced) 1 stick
Egg 1
All-purpose flour 2 tablespoons
Garlic 2 cloves (ground)
Ground pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Granulated sugar To taste
Margarine For greasing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Start by crushing the yellow tofu with your hands until it reaches a smooth consistency.

  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, add the crushed tofu along with the ground garlic, shredded carrot, sliced green onion, egg, and all-purpose flour. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  3. Grease the Molds: Lightly grease your steaming molds with margarine to prevent sticking.

  4. Steam the Mixture: Fill the prepared molds with the tofu mixture. Steam over low heat for about 20 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean, your dish is ready.

  5. Fry for Crispiness: Once cooked, carefully remove the tofu cakes from the molds. In a pan, heat a bit of oil over low heat and briefly fry the cakes until they are golden brown.

  6. Serve: Your Tahu Telor Sayur is now ready to be enjoyed! Serve it warm as a delicious appetizer or main dish, and savor the delightful blend of flavors.

Enjoy this nutritious and tasty dish that showcases the wonderful ingredients of Indonesian cuisine!
