Nessa’s Lasagna Recipe

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Meat: Begin by browning the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat.

  2. Add Flavor: To the skillet with the cooked beef, add minced garlic, parsley flakes, oregano, salt, canned tomatoes with juice, and tomato paste. Allow the mixture to simmer, letting the flavors meld together.

  3. Prepare Noodles: While the meat mixture is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions, usually boiling them for about 12 minutes. Once cooked, drain and rinse the noodles in cold water to stop the cooking process.

  4. Mix Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, beaten eggs, pepper, and additional parsley flakes. Mix well using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.

  5. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.

  6. Layering: Begin assembling the lasagna by layering the ingredients in the prepared baking dish. Start with a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a portion of the ground beef mixture, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and a layer of the cottage cheese mixture. Top with a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat this layering process two more times, ending with a final layer of mozzarella cheese on top.

  7. Bake: Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown on top.
