🍽️ Yield: Varies

Description:

Kim Bap, a beloved Korean dish, offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures wrapped in seasoned rice and seaweed. Perfect for lunch or snacks, this recipe is highly customizable, allowing you to tailor it to your preferences. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for a satisfying meal!

Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Cooked rice 4 cups
Rice vinegar 1 tbsp
Soy sauce 1/2 cup
Carrot 1, julienned
Eggs 4
Frozen spinach 1 cup
Sesame oil 2 tbsp
Radishes 10, thinly sliced
Sesame seeds 1/2 cup

Instructions:

  1. Let rice cool a bit:

    • Allow the cooked rice to cool slightly to make it easier to work with.
  2. Prepare the rice mixture:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice with rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well to ensure the rice is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  3. Cook the eggs:

    • Fry the eggs in a pan, treating them like a pancake. Once cooked, cut them into strips.
  4. Prepare the spinach:

    • Thaw the frozen spinach and mix it with sesame oil and soy sauce to add flavor.
  5. Assemble the rolls:

    • If you don’t have a bamboo roller, don’t worry, you can still make Kim Bap! Lay a sheet of seaweed on a clean surface.
    • Spread the seasoned rice evenly over about 2/3 of the seaweed sheet.
    • Arrange the julienned carrots, egg strips, and spinach on top of the rice.
  6. Roll the Kim Bap:

    • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the filling.
    • Starting from the end with the filling, carefully roll the seaweed sheet into a tight cylinder, similar to rolling a jelly roll.
  7. Slice and serve:

    • Once rolled, use a sharp knife to cut the Kim Bap into 1/2 inch rounds.
    • Arrange the slices on a serving platter and garnish with sliced radishes.
  8. Customize to your taste:

    • Feel free to customize your Kim Bap with additional ingredients such as imitation crab meat, marinated soybean sprouts, cucumbers, or any other fillings you desire!
