Maklor (Macaroni and Egg Stir-Fry)

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams macaroni
  • 3 large eggs
  • 5 shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic (adjust to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 stalks green onions (adjust to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 2 cubes seasoning powder (e.g., Maggi)
  • Fish cakes or sausages, sliced (as desired)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Macaroni:
    Begin by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook for approximately 5-6 minutes or until al dente. Drain the macaroni and set aside.

  2. Prepare the Vegetables:
    While the macaroni is cooking, finely slice the shallots, garlic, and green onions. If desired, include sliced chili peppers for added heat and flavor. For a touch of spiciness, you might also want to prepare some chili sauce.

  3. Mix the Ingredients:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, sliced vegetables, eggs, seasoning powder, and fish cakes or sausages. Use a spoon or fork to mix everything together until well combined.

  4. Cook the Mixture:
    Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, pour in the macaroni mixture. Stir frequently to ensure even cooking and to prevent sticking. Continue to cook until the mixture is fully cooked through and lightly golden.
