Cue Tongkol with Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 Cue Tongkol (Mackerel Tuna)
  • 1 Onion
  • 6 Shallots
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • Saori Oyster Sauce
  • Indofood Chili Sauce
  • Sweet Soy Sauce
  • Water, as needed

Steps

  1. Prepare the Fish:

    • Begin by thoroughly cleaning the cue tongkol. Once clean, cut the fish into pieces according to your preference.
  2. Prepare the Aromatics:

    • Thinly slice the onion, shallots, and garlic.
  3. Fry the Fish:

    • Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the fish pieces. Be careful not to fry them too long; just until they change color. Once done, remove the fish from the pan and set it aside to drain.
  4. Sauté the Aromatics:

    • In a separate pan, heat a small amount of oil. Add the sliced onion, shallots, and garlic. Sauté until fragrant and slightly wilted.
  5. Combine Fish and Aromatics:

    • Add the fried fish to the pan with the sautéed aromatics. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Add Sauces and Simmer:

    • Pour in a little water to the pan, followed by Saori oyster sauce, Indofood chili sauce, and sweet soy sauce. Stir everything together to ensure the fish and aromatics are well-coated with the sauces.
    • Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, letting the flavors meld and the fish absorb the sauce.
  7. Season to Taste:

    • There is no need to add salt, as the natural saltiness of the fish and the sauces will provide sufficient seasoning.
  8. Serve:

    • Once the sauce has thickened and the fish is well-coated, remove from heat. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Cue Tongkol with Oyster Sauce.

Happy cooking! 🌹
