Cue Tongkol with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 Cue Tongkol (Mackerel Tuna)
- 1 Onion
- 6 Shallots
- 3 Garlic cloves
- Saori Oyster Sauce
- Indofood Chili Sauce
- Sweet Soy Sauce
- Water, as needed
Steps
-
Prepare the Fish:
- Begin by thoroughly cleaning the cue tongkol. Once clean, cut the fish into pieces according to your preference.
-
Prepare the Aromatics:
- Thinly slice the onion, shallots, and garlic.
-
Fry the Fish:
- Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the fish pieces. Be careful not to fry them too long; just until they change color. Once done, remove the fish from the pan and set it aside to drain.
-
Sauté the Aromatics:
- In a separate pan, heat a small amount of oil. Add the sliced onion, shallots, and garlic. Sauté until fragrant and slightly wilted.
-
Combine Fish and Aromatics:
- Add the fried fish to the pan with the sautéed aromatics. Stir gently to combine.
-
Add Sauces and Simmer:
- Pour in a little water to the pan, followed by Saori oyster sauce, Indofood chili sauce, and sweet soy sauce. Stir everything together to ensure the fish and aromatics are well-coated with the sauces.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, letting the flavors meld and the fish absorb the sauce.
-
Season to Taste:
- There is no need to add salt, as the natural saltiness of the fish and the sauces will provide sufficient seasoning.
-
Serve:
- Once the sauce has thickened and the fish is well-coated, remove from heat. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Cue Tongkol with Oyster Sauce.
Happy cooking! 🌹
