Ingredients

Water 1 liter
Tempoyak 1-2 tablespoons
Pineapple, diced 1/4 piece
Green onions (optional) 1 stalk
Basil leaves A handful
Bird’s eye chili 10-15 whole

Spice Paste

Turmeric 1 cm
Galangal 1 cm
Lemongrass (crushed) 1 stalk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the broth: In a pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil. Add the spice paste and allow it to simmer until fragrant.

  2. Add the main ingredients: Once boiling, carefully introduce the patin fish and diced pineapple into the pot. Stir in the tempoyak and let it cook together.

  3. Season the dish: Add salt and sugar to taste. Stir well, then introduce the green onions and whole bird’s eye chilies. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
