- 3 lbs beef roast
- 2 tsp red wine vinegar
- Pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- 1 packet onion soup mix
Instructions:
Step | Instruction |
---|---|
1 | Place the beef roast in a roaster pan and sprinkle it evenly with red wine vinegar, pepper, garlic powder, and the onion soup mix. |
2 | Cover the roaster and bake the roast at 325º-350ºF for at least 3-4 hours, until it’s tender and cooked through. |
3 | During the last hour of cooking, remove the lid to allow the roast to brown slightly. |
4 | Once the roast is cooked, carefully remove it from the roaster and cover it with foil to keep it warm. |
5 | To make the gravy, heat the drippings from the roast in a saucepan over fairly high heat. If needed, add more water to the drippings. |
6 | Bring the drippings to a boil, then whisk in a slurry of flour and water (fairly thick), stirring constantly to avoid lumps. |
7 | Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper, then serve the gravy alongside the beef roast. |
