Telur Gulung Sosis: A Nostalgic Snack

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 large Eggs
9 tablespoons Water
8 pieces Fried sausages
To taste Salt and seasoning
8 skewers Bamboo skewers

For the Sauce:

Quantity Ingredient
2 packets (500g each) ABC sauce (or your favorite sauce)
1 clove Red onion, thinly sliced
10 tablespoons Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add a pinch of salt along with your preferred seasoning. Whisk them together until the mixture is smooth and slightly runny.

  2. Add Water: Gradually incorporate the water into the egg mixture, whisking until well combined.

  3. Heat the Oil: In a medium-sized frying pan, heat a generous amount of oil over medium heat. The oil should be sufficient to allow the egg to float when poured in.

  4. Skewer the Sausages: Take the fried sausages and thread each one onto a bamboo skewer. This will make them easier to handle when rolling in the egg.

  5. Cook the Egg Rolls: Pour a ladleful of the egg mixture into the hot oil. Quickly place one of the skewered sausages in the center of the egg, and gently roll it up, ensuring the egg wraps around the sausage. Be swift, as overcooking the egg will prevent it from rolling properly. Repeat this process until all the egg mixture is used up.

  6. Prepare the Sauce: For a delightful dipping sauce, heat a little oil in a pan and sauté the thinly sliced red onion until it becomes translucent. Add the ABC sauce and 10 tablespoons of water. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through.

  7. Serve: Once your Telur Gulung Sosis is golden and cooked through, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Serve hot with the prepared sauce for dipping.

Enjoy!

This dish brings back memories of childhood snacks and is perfect for sharing with family during casual gatherings. Enjoy the savory flavors and the fun of rolling them up! Happy cooking! 😊
