Perfectly Seasoned Beef Steak

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz beef sirloin steak
  • Butter
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary
  • Salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak: Pat the beef sirloin steak dry with paper towels. This step is crucial as it ensures a better sear and prevents excess moisture from steaming the meat.

  2. Season the Steak: Rub the steak with a generous amount of salt, black pepper, and a splash of olive oil. Press fresh rosemary leaves onto both sides of the steak, enhancing its flavor with an aromatic touch.

  3. Heat the Pan: Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. You want the pan to be hot enough to achieve a good sear, which will lock in the juices and flavor of the steak.

  4. Cook the Steak: Place the seasoned steak in the hot skillet. Allow it to sear without moving it, so it forms a golden-brown crust. This usually takes a few minutes on each side. Once the underside is nicely browned, flip the steak.

  5. Achieve Desired Doneness: Cook the steak to medium-well, which should be firm but slightly pink in the center. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the steak tough and chewy.

  6. Finish with Butter: When the steak is almost done, add a small pat of butter to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steak to add richness and flavor.

  7. Serve: Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making the steak more tender. Serve with a fresh salad dressed with salt, olive oil, black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice, alongside potato wedges, French fries, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.

Enjoy your perfectly cooked steak, enhanced with simple yet delightful seasonings and accompaniments.
