Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tofu (firm) 2 pieces, diced
Sausages 2-3, sliced
Chinese cabbage (sawi) 6 leaves, chopped
Carrots 2, sliced
Green beans 5, cut into pieces
Green onions 1, chopped
Celery 1 stalk, finely sliced
Garlic 3 cloves, minced
Onion (small) 1, thinly sliced
Oyster sauce 1 teaspoon
Soy sauce (salty) 1 tablespoon
Sweet soy sauce 1 tablespoon
Fish sauce 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste
Water as needed
Cornstarch mixed with water 1 teaspoon
Ground pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by gathering all ingredients. Dice the tofu and slice the sausages. Chop the vegetables as desired, ensuring they’re ready for cooking.

  2. Fry Tofu and Sausages: In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Fry the tofu until golden brown, then add the sausages and cook until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.

  3. Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary and sauté the minced garlic and sliced onion until fragrant and translucent.

  4. Add Vegetables: Toss in the sliced carrots and stir for a minute. Add a small amount of water to help steam the carrots until they are slightly tender.

  5. Season: Stir in the green beans, oyster sauce, salty soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, sugar, and ground pepper. Mix well and let it cook for a couple of minutes.

  6. Finish with Greens: Add the Chinese cabbage, green onions, and celery. Pour in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, and return the tofu and sausages to the skillet. Stir everything until well combined and cooked through.

  7. Taste and Adjust: Check for seasoning and adjust to your liking. Once everything is nicely mixed and heated, it’s ready to serve.

  8. Serve: Dish out the Sapo Tahu onto plates and enjoy the colorful, hearty meal with steamed rice or on its own!

Enjoy Cooking!

This Sapo Tahu recipe is a perfect blend of textures and flavors, ensuring a satisfying meal that’s both nutritious and delicious. Happy cooking! 😊
