Pizza Sarden with Cheese ala Dapur Fitri

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon bread improver
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 sachet (mini) powdered coconut milk
  • 300 ml warm water

For the Pizza Topping:

  • Sardines
  • Grated cheese
  • Chili sauce or tomato sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, bread improver, and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.

  2. Add the egg, margarine, and powdered coconut milk to the dry ingredients. Gradually pour in the warm water, mixing continuously until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free area for approximately 35 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.

  5. Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release excess air. Divide the dough into small portions, each weighing approximately 15 grams. Shape each portion into small balls and arrange them on a baking sheet or a non-stick frying pan.

  6. Flatten each dough ball into a small, round pizza base. Allow the flattened dough to rest for an additional 5-10 minutes. Using a fork, gently prick the surface of each pizza base to prevent bubbling during baking.

  7. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) or prepare your baking equipment for low heat.

  8. Bake the pizza bases in the preheated oven or over low heat in the frying pan for a few minutes until they are partially cooked.

  9. Remove the partially baked pizza bases from the oven or frying pan. Top each pizza base with sardines, grated cheese, and your choice of chili sauce or tomato sauce.

  10. Return the topped pizzas to the oven or frying pan and bake for an additional 15-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  11. Once the pizzas are done, remove them from the oven or pan and let them cool slightly. Serve the pizzas warm for the best taste.

Enjoy your homemade Pizza Sarden with Cheese ala Dapur Fitri, perfect for a delightful meal or snack!
