- 1 Italian sausage
- 1 zucchini
- 1 yellow squash
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Butter, for sautéing
- Lasagna noodles (enough to cover the layers)

Prepare the Ingredients:
- Brown the Italian sausage over medium heat, then drain any excess fat.
- Slice the zucchini and yellow squash, and sauté them in a little butter until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix the Ricotta Mixture:
- In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, dried basil, and dried oregano. Mix until well combined.

Layer the Lasagna:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 13×9-inch baking dish, spread about 3/4 cup of the sauce evenly on the bottom.
- Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. They will expand when cooked, so make sure to overlap them slightly.
- Spread about 2/3 cup of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Sprinkle some of the sautéed zucchini and yellow squash on top of the ricotta mixture.
- Pour about 3/4 cup of the sauce over the vegetables, then top with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat these layers three times.
