Instructions:

Step Description
1 Begin by preheating your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
2 In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes and sauerkraut.
3 Spread half of the sauerkraut and potato mixture evenly into a Pyrex pie plate.
4 Generously spread 1 1/2 tbsp of mustard over the sauerkraut layer.
5 Place the smoked pork chops on top of the sauerkraut layer.
6 Spread the remaining mustard over the pork chops.
7 Cover the pork chops with the remaining sauerkraut and potato mixture.
8 Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.
9 Place a pat of butter on top of the dish for added flavor.
10 Seal the pie plate with aluminum foil to keep the moisture in.
11 Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.
12 For a golden brown potato topping, uncover the dish for the last 15 minutes of baking.
13 Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
