Beef and Oat Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of thinly sliced beef (any cut will work)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • A pinch of sugar (to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • A small piece of ginger (to replace sake)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, water, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. Simmer the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Once it begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low.

  3. Add Aromatics: Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and ginger to the saucepan. Stir to combine.

  4. Cook the Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the saucepan. Cook over low heat for 7-8 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and tender.

  5. Serve: Spoon the beef mixture over a bowl of cooked oats (or rice, if preferred). Garnish with chopped green onions.

  6. Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy this comforting, savory dish.

This dish is a delicious blend of flavors and textures, with tender beef simmered in a sweet and savory sauce, served over hearty oats or rice. Perfect for a satisfying meal any time of the day!
