Spicy Candlenut Omelet (Telur Dadar Bumbu Kemiri)

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 5 shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 5 candlenuts (kemiri)
  • 3 large red chilies, seeds removed
  • A pinch of salt
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Spice Paste: In a blender or food processor, combine the shallots, garlic, candlenuts, and red chilies. Blend until the mixture forms a smooth paste. If necessary, add a small amount of water to aid in blending.

  2. Mix the Eggs: In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Add the prepared spice paste to the eggs and mix until fully combined. Season with a pinch of salt to taste.

  3. Cook the Omelet: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of cooking oil. Pour the egg mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly. Cook for a few minutes until the edges start to set and turn golden brown. Carefully flip the omelet and cook the other side until golden brown and fully cooked.

  4. Serve: Once cooked through, transfer the omelet to a plate. Slice into wedges and serve hot.

This Spicy Candlenut Omelet is a flavorful dish that brings a unique blend of spices and heat to your table. Enjoy it as a delightful addition to any meal!
