Hot Tuna Puffs: Super Simple Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Canned tuna in spicy tomato sauce 1 can
Instant puff pastry sheets 2 sheets
Sugar 1.5 teaspoons
Garlic (minced) 3 cloves
Grated mozzarella cheese To taste
Oregano (for topping) To taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry: Lightly dust a clean surface with flour. Allow the puff pastry to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Once softened, cut each sheet into 8 triangular pieces.

  2. Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine the canned tuna, sugar, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  3. Assemble the Puffs: Brush the edges of each pastry triangle with water (or egg white for a richer flavor). Place about 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of the tuna mixture along with a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese in the center of each triangle. Fold over the pastry to form a pocket and seal the edges by pressing them with a fork.

  4. Prepare for Baking: Arrange the filled puffs on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops with a little water or beaten egg yolk for a golden finish. Sprinkle with oregano to taste.

  5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake for about 20 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, adjusting time as necessary based on your oven.

  6. Serve: Enjoy your hot tuna puffs with mayonnaise on the side, if desired. Yummy!
