Cah Bayam Tahu Telur (Stir-Fried Spinach with Tofu and Egg)

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Spinach 2 bunches
Firm tofu (cut into cubes) 2 pieces
Onion (sliced) ½ piece
Egg 1 piece
Garlic (crushed and chopped) 3 cloves
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Cooking oil As needed
Water Approximately ¾ cup

Instructions

  1. Fry the Tofu: In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and fry the tofu cubes until they are golden brown. Once cooked, remove and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  2. Scramble the Egg: In the same skillet, add a little more oil if necessary, and scramble the egg. Once cooked, set aside.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics: In the skillet, add the sliced onion and crushed garlic. Sauté until fragrant, stirring occasionally, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add Spinach and Tofu: Pour in about ¾ cup of water and bring to a simmer. Add the fried tofu and fresh spinach, cooking until the spinach begins to wilt.

  5. Combine Everything: Stir in the scrambled egg, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix well. Continue to cook until the spinach is fully cooked and tender.

  6. Serve: Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve hot as a delightful side dish or over steamed rice for a wholesome meal.
