Stir-Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce (Daging Sapi Saus Tiram)

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams beef (cooked and diced)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 7 small chili peppers (bird’s eye chili)
  • 1 packet Saori oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Palm sugar, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the garlic and slice the onion. Slice the chili peppers into small rounds, adjusting the quantity to your preferred spice level.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: Heat a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic, sliced onion, and chili peppers. Sauté until the onions become translucent and the garlic releases its aroma.

  3. Season the Mixture: Add a pinch of salt and a small amount of palm sugar to the pan. Stir well to combine and let the flavors meld together.

  4. Add Beef and Sauces: Incorporate the diced, pre-cooked beef into the pan. Pour in the sweet soy sauce and the packet of Saori oyster sauce. Stir everything together, ensuring the beef is well coated with the sauces.

  5. Adjust Consistency: Add a splash of water to the pan if needed to create a bit of sauce. Continue to stir and cook until the beef is heated through and the sauce has slightly thickened.

  6. Taste and Serve: Taste the dish and adjust seasoning if necessary. Once the flavors are balanced to your liking, the Stir-Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce is ready to be served.

This dish is a simple and flavorful way to enjoy beef with a savory and slightly sweet sauce. Serve it over steamed rice for a complete and satisfying meal.
