Tumis Tahu Tauge (Stir-Fried Tofu with Bean Sprouts)

Ingredients

Bean Sprouts (Tauge) 150g
Red Shallots 3 cloves
Garlic 2 cloves
Tomato 1 piece
Red Chili (Tanjung) 2 pieces
Curly Chili 3 pieces
Green Onion (for garnish) To taste
Salt To taste
Sugar To taste
Bouillon Powder To taste
Cooking Oil For frying and sautéing
Hot Water 300 ml

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by thoroughly washing the tofu and bean sprouts. Cut the tofu into small cubes. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu cubes until they are halfway cooked, then drain and set aside.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add more oil if necessary, and sauté the chopped red shallots and garlic until they become fragrant and translucent. Then, add the diced tomato and both types of chilies, sautéing until they soften.

  3. Combine Tofu and Bean Sprouts: Add the fried tofu and bean sprouts to the pan, stirring gently to mix everything well. Pour in the hot water and season with salt, sugar, and bouillon powder, adjusting to taste.

  4. Final Touch: Let the mixture cook until the bean sprouts are tender yet still crunchy. Finally, toss in the sliced green onions just before removing from heat for a burst of freshness.
