Beef Teriyaki Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg (about 1 lb) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 large onion, sliced into thick rounds
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (or 3 large red chilies for extra heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 5 tablespoons Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade
- Salt to taste (optional; omit if preferred)
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions:
-
Sauté Aromatics: Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic and red chilies or bell pepper slices. Sauté until the garlic is fragrant and the bell peppers start to soften.
-
Cook Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet. The beef will release its juices; continue to stir-fry until the beef is cooked through and evenly browned.
-
Flavoring: Once the beef is cooked, add the sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) and teriyaki marinade to the skillet. Sprinkle in the white pepper and granulated sugar. Add a small amount of water to help create a sauce. Stir well to combine the flavors. Allow the mixture to simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
-
Finish and Serve: Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for an additional minute or until the onion is just tender. Remove from heat.
-
Serve: Serve the Beef Teriyaki hot over steamed rice. Enjoy this savory and slightly sweet dish as a delightful main course.
