Tempe Orek Iris

Ingredients

Tempe (cubed) 1/2 papan
Sweet soy sauce (Kecap manis) To taste (enough to darken tempe)
Red shallots (sliced) 8 pieces
Garlic (sliced) 3 cloves
Curly red chilies (sliced) 7 pieces
Bird’s eye chilies (sliced) 3 pieces
Bay leaves 1.5 pieces

Instructions

  1. Fry the Tempe: Heat oil in a pan and fry the cubed tempe until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add the sliced red shallots, garlic, and chilies. Sauté until they are half-cooked and fragrant.
