Beef Teriyaki Recipe
Ingredients:
- 300 grams of lean beef (select quality cuts)
- 2 medium onions, halved and sliced roughly
- 2 large green chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Oil, as needed for cooking
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef: Begin by washing the beef thoroughly and slicing it thinly. Set aside.
-
Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, ground black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Add the sliced beef to this marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, allowing the flavors to infuse into the meat.
-
Cook the Aromatics: Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt. Sauté half of the sliced onions and green chilies until fragrant and softened.
-
Sear the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan. Stir-fry until the beef is browned and cooked through, adding a splash of water if needed to create a bit of sauce and to ensure the beef cooks evenly.
-
Finish Cooking: Once the beef is nearly done, add the remaining sliced onions to the pan. Continue to cook until the onions are tender and slightly caramelized.
-
Serve: Remove from heat. Transfer the beef teriyaki to a serving dish. Serve hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
Enjoy this flavorful and tender beef teriyaki, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion!
