Simple Beef Teriyaki Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Thinly sliced beef (adjust thickness to preference)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed (for boiling the beef)
  • For the spice paste:
    • 4 cloves garlic
    • 1 red onion
    • 5 bird’s eye chilies (optional)
    • 2 cm ginger
  • Teriyaki sauce (such as Saori brand) to taste
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • Beef broth or stock

Instructions:

  1. Begin by boiling the beef in water until tender. Once the beef is cooked through, discard the initial boiling water. Refill the pot with fresh water, adding the 2 cloves of garlic and a pinch of salt. Continue to simmer until the beef is very tender. Set the beef aside, reserving the beef broth.

  2. In a separate pan, heat some oil and sauté the spice paste ingredients (garlic, red onion, bird’s eye chilies, and ginger) until fragrant.

  3. Add the teriyaki sauce to the pan with the spice paste. Adjust the quantity of sauce to your taste preferences.

  4. Combine the cooked beef with the sautéed spice paste. Pour in some of the reserved beef broth to moisten the mixture. Stir in the sliced onion and green onions. Cook until the onions are tender.

  5. Season with salt and sugar to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy! 😍
