Elevate your culinary experience with this savory and succulent Beef Teriyaki, a dish that effortlessly combines tender beef with the rich, umami flavors of teriyaki sauce. Ideal for a satisfying dinner, this recipe blends the traditional essence of teriyaki with a modern twist. Here’s how you can prepare this delightful meal:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams of beef
- 2 large onions
- 10 large green chilies
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 centimeters of ginger
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 sachets of teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of granulated sugar
- Water for boiling
- Oil for sautéing
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef:
- Begin by washing the beef thoroughly. Place it in a pot with enough water to cover the meat and add the bay leaves. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for approximately 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
-
Prepare the Marinade:
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the marinade. In a blender or food processor, combine the black pepper, garlic, and ginger, and blend until smooth.
-
Slice and Marinate:
- Once the beef is tender, remove it from the pot and allow it to cool slightly. Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Marinate the sliced beef in the prepared spice mixture along with the teriyaki sauce. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
-
Prepare the Vegetables:
- Slice the onions and green chilies into thin strips.
-
Sauté:
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions become translucent and the chilies start to soften.
-
Cook the Beef:
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet with the onions and chilies. Stir-fry until the beef is heated through and starts to brown.
-
Season and Simmer:
- Season the beef mixture with salt, granulated sugar, and sweet soy sauce. Pour in some of the reserved beef broth (from boiling the meat) to achieve the desired consistency of the sauce. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
-
Final Touches:
- Allow the dish to simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and the flavors have melded together. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
-
Serve:
- Serve the Beef Teriyaki hot, accompanied by steamed rice and a side of fresh vegetable salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
Enjoy this hearty and flavorful Beef Teriyaki, a true testament to the art of blending rich ingredients to create a dish that’s both comforting and delicious.
