Teriyaki Beef and Oyster Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg beef, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 kg oyster mushrooms, cleaned and sliced lengthwise
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 shallots, diced
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 2 red chili peppers, sliced diagonally
  • A handful of scallions, chopped
  • A handful of celery leaves, chopped
  • Beef seasoning, to taste (such as Royco)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Sweet soy sauce, to taste
  • Instant teriyaki sauce, to taste
  • Chili sauce, to taste
  • Butter, for sautéing
  • Water from boiling beef, as needed

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef: Begin by boiling the beef until it is half-cooked. Discard the water and then boil again until the beef is tender and fully cooked.

  2. Prepare the Ingredients: While the beef is cooking, clean the oyster mushrooms and slice them lengthwise. Dice the large onion and shallots into small cubes. Chop the tomato, slice the chili peppers diagonally, and chop the scallions and celery leaves.

  3. Cut the Beef: Once the beef is tender, cut it into medium-sized cubes.

  4. Sauté the Aromatics: In a pan, melt some butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and shallots, and sauté until they become fragrant and translucent.

  5. Cook the Beef: Add the beef cubes to the pan with the sautéed onions and shallots. Pour in a small amount of the water used for boiling the beef. Let the mixture simmer until the beef absorbs the flavors.

  6. Add the Mushrooms and Seasonings: Add the oyster mushrooms to the pan. Season with beef seasoning, salt, sugar, black pepper, chili sauce, sweet soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly coated with the seasonings. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

  7. Finish the Dish: Once the mushrooms are cooked and the flavors are well combined, add the scallions, celery leaves, sliced chili peppers, and chopped tomato. Stir briefly to mix all the ingredients.
