Savory Teriyaki Chicken Wings with a Crispy Twist

Teriyaki Chicken Wings: My Special Recipe 😋

Ingredients:

  • 7 chicken wings
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Cooking oil
  • A little sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Cut the chicken wings into smaller pieces. Season them with salt and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken wings until they are golden brown and crispy. Once done, remove them from the pan and let them drain on paper towels.
  3. Cook the Aromatics:

    • In the same pan, heat a bit of oil or margarine. Add the chopped garlic and onion. Sauté until they become fragrant.
  4. Combine the Ingredients:

    • Reduce the heat and add the fried chicken wings back into the pan. Pour in the teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sweet soy sauce. Stir well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Finish and Serve:

    • Continue to cook for a few more minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Note: This dish tends to be a bit salty, as my husband prefers his food on the saltier side! 😂😌
