Omelette Tuna ala Bunda JKB

Ingredients

For the Omelette:

  • 5 Jumbo Eggs
  • 1 Can of Tuna
  • 3 Handfuls of Thinly Sliced Cabbage
  • 3 Stalks of Sliced Green Onions
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Double Action Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour

For the Sauce:

  • 5 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 tbsp Water
  • 1 tbsp Liquid Cornstarch
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Omelette Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the jumbo eggs, canned tuna, sliced cabbage, sliced green onions, salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, baking powder, and all-purpose flour. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined.

  2. Cook the Omelette: Heat a generous amount of oil (about 10 tablespoons) in a non-stick skillet over low heat. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, spreading it evenly. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the top is set and slightly firm.

  3. Flip and Finish Cooking: Once the surface is dry, carefully flip the omelette to cook the other side until it is golden brown. Be gentle during this process to maintain the omelette’s structure.

  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a separate pan, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant. Add the ketchup, salt, sugar, and enough water to create a sauce-like consistency. Stir to combine.

  5. Thicken the Sauce: Mix in the liquid cornstarch to thicken the sauce. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.

  6. Serve: Slice the omelette into portions and drizzle the sauce over the top. Enjoy this delightful and nutritious dish!
