Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Instant puff pastry (Edo brand) 2 sheets, each cut into 4
Canned tuna 1 can
Small onion 1, thinly sliced
Garlic cloves 2, finely chopped
Parsley 1 teaspoon
Margarine 1 tablespoon (for sautéing)
Egg 1 (white for sealing, yolk for brushing)
Salt To taste
Sugar To taste
Black pepper To taste
Additional parsley For garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a skillet, heat the margarine over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and finely chopped garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.

  2. Mix Filling: Add the canned tuna, parsley, salt, sugar, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir until well combined, then remove from heat.

  3. Assemble Pastries: Take a piece of puff pastry and place a spoonful of the tuna mixture in the center. Use the egg white to seal the edges firmly. Repeat this with the remaining pastry and filling.

  4. Prepare for Baking: Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg yolk for a golden finish, and sprinkle with dried parsley for added flavor.

  5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the pastries for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.

  6. Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving, garnished with additional parsley if desired. Enjoy these delightful tuna puff pastries as a perfect snack or appetizer!
