- Cooking Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 30 minutes
- Servings: 8
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2/3 cup celery, chopped
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 boneless beef top sirloin steaks, thinly sliced
- 1/8 teaspoon ginger root, grated
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 (4-ounce) packages instant Asian noodles with seasoning packets
Instructions:
-
Prepare Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic, grated ginger root, and all the chopped vegetables (broccoli florets, red bell pepper, celery, carrot, and onion) to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
-
Season Vegetables: Toss the hot vegetables with Tabasco sauce and light soy sauce. Set aside.
-
Cook Beef: In the same skillet, heat the remaining oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef, half at a time, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes or until the outside surface is no longer pink. Be careful not to overcook the beef. Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and keep it warm.
-
Prepare Noodles: In the skillet, add water and bring it to a boil. Meanwhile, remove the instant Asian noodles from their packages and break them into pieces. Stir the noodles into the boiling water along with the seasoning packets.
-
Simmer Noodles: Bring the mixture to a boil again, then reduce the heat to simmer. Allow the noodles to cook for about 3 minutes or until they are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
-
Combine Ingredients: Once the noodles are cooked, return the cooked beef to the skillet and add the seasoned vegetables. Heat everything through, ensuring all the ingredients are well-combined and heated evenly.
-
Serve: Transfer the Asian Noodle Skillet to a serving dish and enjoy it hot, garnished with some fresh herbs or toasted sesame seeds if desired.
