Black Pepper Beef Stir-Fry: A Flavorful Delight
Ingredients:
- 1/4 pound high-quality beef sirloin, cut into small cubes
- 1 large onion, sliced into wedges
- 2 large red bell peppers, cut into cubes
- 2 large green bell peppers, cut into cubes
- 1 piece of ginger, thinly sliced into matchsticks
- 1 tablespoon oil (for frying the beef)
- Marinade for the beef:
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Stir-fry sauce:
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 50 ml water
- 2 tablespoons oil (for stir-frying)

Prepare the Beef:
- Rinse the beef cubes under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Toss the beef in this marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Fry the Beef:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef cubes and cook until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside to drain on a paper towel.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
- In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil. Sauté the onion and ginger until they are aromatic and slightly browned, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the red and green bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until they are tender yet still crisp.

- Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables. Pour in the oyster sauce, sugar, salt, chicken bouillon powder, and sweet soy sauce. Stir well to combine and ensure the beef and vegetables are evenly coated.
- Mix the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch dissolved in water) and pour it into the pan. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 1-2 minutes.
