πŸ•’ Total Time: 20 minutes | πŸ₯’ Servings: Variable

Description: These broiled oysters are absolutely luscious! Whether you’re looking for a delightful appetizer or a main course paired with a salad, these oysters will surely impress your guests. Better make lots though, because they’ll disappear in a flash!

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Paprika
  • Parsley
  • Lemon slice

Instructions:

Step Details
1 Drain the oysters or shuck them, saving the deep shell side.
2 Place the drained oysters in a shallow buttered pan. Alternatively, if using the shells, place the shucked oysters on the shell with some of the saved liquor.
3 In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and paprika.
4 Pour the butter mixture over the oysters, whether they’re in a pan or on the shell. If using the half shell, place them on a cookie sheet.
5 Preheat the broiler.
6 Place the pan or cookie sheet under the broiler until the oysters are plump, about 5 minutes. Be careful not to overcook.
7 Serve immediately, sprinkled with parsley and accompanied by lemon slices.
8 For an appetizer, serve the panned oysters on hot buttered toast – the toast should be crisp for maximum enjoyment.
9 If serving on the half shell, consider placing 2 or even 3 oysters on each shell for a delightful first course at a dinner party.

These broiled oysters are not only delicious but also have several health benefits, as they are very low in carbs, low in protein, and low in cholesterol. Plus, they’re incredibly easy to make, requiring just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time. So go ahead, indulge in these savory delights and impress your guests with this Canadian classic!
