Ingredients:

- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
Instructions:

Make the sauce:
- In a medium saucepan, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 10 minutes or until tender.
- Stir in the tomato puree, apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses, mustard, red pepper flakes, and chili powder.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

- Preheat your grill or electric grilling machine for cooking.
- If using a traditional grill, sear the flank steak over the hottest part of the coals for about 2 minutes per side.
- Move the steak to a cooler area of the grill and continue cooking to medium-rare, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
- Brush the hot honey-molasses sauce onto the steak just before turning and continue brushing as it cooks.
- If using an electric grilling machine, brush the grid with canola oil and place the flank steak on the hot grill.
- Cook for about 3 minutes for medium-rare. After 1 1/2 minutes, brush the sauce onto the top side of the steak.
