Chili Cheese Jubilee

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Prep Time: 25 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • Servings: 6

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 lb Ground beef
2 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Margarine
1 Onion
1 can (8 oz) Tomato sauce
1/2 cup Water
2 Eggs
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup Sour cream
4-6 cups Corn chips
1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup Light cream or milk

Instructions:

  1. Begin by browning the ground beef in a skillet until it’s beautifully crumbly. Once done, drain the excess fat and set the beef aside.

  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter and margarine together over medium heat.

  3. Dice the onion and add it to the skillet. Sauté the onion until it’s tender and fragrant.

  4. Pour in the can of tomato sauce, along with the water, and sprinkle in your favorite seasoning mix. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together into a rich and aromatic chili sauce.

  5. In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs, then stir in the light cream or milk until well combined.

  6. Slowly pour the egg-cream mixture into the skillet with the tomato-chili sauce, stirring constantly to ensure a smooth and creamy consistency. Remove the skillet from heat once the mixture is well incorporated.

  7. Now it’s time to assemble the layers! Start by spreading half of the corn chips evenly across the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish.

  8. Next, layer half of the browned ground beef on top of the corn chips, followed by a generous sprinkling of Monterey Jack cheese.

  9. Pour half of the tomato-chili sauce mixture over the cheese, spreading it out evenly to cover the layer beneath.

  10. Repeat the layers once more, starting with another layer of corn chips, followed by the remaining ground beef, Monterey Jack cheese, and tomato-chili sauce.

  11. For the finishing touch, spread a thick layer of sour cream over the top of the casserole, creating a creamy and irresistible “frosting.”

  12. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the sour cream layer, adding a deliciously gooey and golden topping to your Chili Cheese Jubilee.

  13. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C), then bake the casserole for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the casserole is heated through to perfection.

  14. Once baked, remove the Chili Cheese Jubilee from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  15. Serve up generous portions of this mouthwatering dish, garnished with your favorite toppings like diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, or a dollop of creamy avocado.

  16. Enjoy the warm and comforting flavors of Chili Cheese Jubilee with friends and family, savoring each delicious bite and reveling in the joy of good food and good company. 🍲🎉
