Orak-Arik Telur

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of smoked beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 scallion
  • 1/2 red tomato
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • White rice, for serving
  • Mayonnaise and chili sauce, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Begin by finely chopping all the ingredients: the smoked beef, onion, garlic, scallion, and red tomato.

  2. Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk it until fully blended.

  3. Heat a small amount of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.

  4. Pour the beaten egg into the pan, then scatter the chopped ingredients evenly over the egg. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.

  5. Allow the egg to cook undisturbed until it begins to set. Once the edges start to firm up, gently stir and scramble the mixture until the egg is fully cooked and the ingredients are well combined.

  6. Serve the orak-arik hot, alongside a plate of steamed white rice. For added flavor, top with a dollop of mayonnaise and a drizzle of chili sauce if desired.
