Soya Keema Masala (High Protein Vegetarian)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soya chunks
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon salt and the soya chunks. Let it soak in the hot water for 12-15 minutes. Drain the water and set the soya chunks aside.
  2. Soak the green peas in hot water for about 3 minutes, then drain and set them aside.
  3. Wash, peel, and chop the potatoes. Place them in a pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles. Set aside.
  4. In a pan, heat the oil and add cumin seeds. Cook for 15 seconds.
  5. Add the chopped onion and green chilies to the pan, cooking until the onion softens.
  6. Stir in the ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  8. Add the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to the mixture. Let it cook for 15 seconds.
  9. Add the soya chunks, boiled potatoes, and green peas to the pan. Stir well, cover, and cook for another 10 minutes on low heat.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
