Vueltas de Carne Recipe 🥩

Cook Time: 15 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: Varies

Description:

To “dar vueltas,” means to “flip” or “go around in circles,” which perfectly describes these succulent steaks! A quick flip in the pan and they’re done! These make great sandwiches or stand-alone delights served with crusty French bread to soak up the flavorful sauce. Garlic mayo is a perfect accompaniment to elevate the dish. You can use beef, pork, or chicken, as long as the cut of meat is very thin. These get even better with time, so feel free to prepare them a day ahead and simply reheat when you’re ready.

Ingredients:

  • 3 top round steaks
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup parsley
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • White wine (as needed)

Instructions:

Step Details
1 Pound steaks with a meat mallet until very thin. Season both sides of steaks with salt and pepper.
2 In a bowl, combine garlic, parsley, olive oil, and red wine vinegar to create a marinade. Brush the marinade onto both sides of the steaks. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3 Heat a small amount of olive oil in a skillet over fairly high heat, until it’s just about smoking. Fry the steaks quickly on each side, just enough for them to lose the pink color. Don’t worry if they aren’t cooked completely through; they will finish cooking in the next step.
4 Remove any burned garlic from the skillet. Transfer the steaks to a shallow pot and cover them.
5 In the same skillet, with the juices remaining, add a splash of white wine and reduce it slightly. Pour this sauce over the steaks.
6 Heat the steaks through. The steam from the sauce will finish cooking the steaks.
7 Serve the steaks with crusty French bread and garlic mayo. These can also be made into sandwiches for a delicious meal on the go!

Recipe Notes:

  • Ensure the cut of meat is very thin for quick cooking and tenderness.
  • You can adjust the seasoning and marinade according to your taste preferences.
  • For sandwiches, consider adding your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, or cheese.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for a convenient meal option.

Enjoy the flavorful journey of these Vueltas de Carne! 🍴✨
