Steamed Beef Marrow Delight

Ingredients:

  • Beef marrow, cleaned and cut
  • Salt
  • Flavor enhancer (optional)
  • Red onions, thinly sliced
  • Garlic, thinly sliced
  • Tomatoes, chopped
  • Green onions, thinly sliced
  • Bird’s eye chilies, chopped
  • A little cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

    • Begin by thoroughly cleaning the beef marrow and cutting it into manageable pieces. Ensure all the ingredients are ready: thinly slice the red onions and garlic, chop the tomatoes and green onions, and finely chop the bird’s eye chilies.
  2. Mixing Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the beef marrow, sliced red onions, garlic, green onions, chopped tomatoes, bird’s eye chilies, and a pinch of salt. If desired, add a flavor enhancer for an extra kick. Drizzle a small amount of cooking oil over the mixture to help blend the flavors.
  3. Steaming:

    • Transfer the mixed ingredients into a heatproof container, such as a Tupperware or a similar steam-safe dish. Ensure the container is covered properly to keep the steam inside.
    • Place the container in a steamer and steam for approximately 30 minutes. This process will tenderize the beef marrow and meld the flavors beautifully.
  4. Serving:

    • After steaming, carefully remove the container from the steamer. Allow it to cool slightly before uncovering. The aromatic blend of spices and tender beef marrow is now ready to be served.
    • Serve the steamed beef marrow hot, either as a standalone dish or alongside rice for a complete meal.
