Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 10 pieces of bakso (Indonesian meatballs)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 shallots
  • 5 bird’s eye chilies (adjust to taste)
  • Soy sauce
  • 1 sachet of chili sauce
  • Seasoning powder (such as Masako)
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • Cabbage (shredded)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Thinly slice the shallots, garlic, and bird’s eye chilies.
    • Slice the bakso into bite-sized pieces.
    • Shred the cabbage.
  2. Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add the sliced shallots, garlic, and chilies. Sauté until fragrant and the shallots are translucent.
  3. Cook the Egg:

    • Crack the egg into the pan and stir-fry with the aromatics until the egg is partially cooked.
  4. Add Bakso:

    • Incorporate the sliced bakso into the pan. Continue stir-frying until the egg is fully cooked and the bakso is heated through.
  5. Season the Dish:

    • Lower the heat and add seasoning powder, sugar, soy sauce, and chili sauce to taste.
    • Stir well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.
  6. Add Cabbage:

    • Increase the heat to medium and add the shredded cabbage to the pan.
    • Stir-fry until the cabbage is tender yet still crisp.
  7. Final Adjustments:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
    • Once the cabbage is cooked and the flavors are well combined, remove from heat.
  8. Serve:

    • Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

This dish combines the rich flavors of bakso with the freshness of cabbage and the spice of bird’s eye chilies, creating a balanced and delightful stir-fry that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
