- 5 small pieces of beef ribs (cut into small cubes)

- 3 stinky beans (pete)
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 5 shallots
- 5 small red chilies
- 5 bay leaves
- 2 stalks of lemongrass
- 2 cm galangal
- Salt to taste
- MSG (optional, to taste)
- Sugar to taste

- Cut the beef ribs into small cube-sized pieces, separating the meat from the bones.
- Dice the potatoes into small cubes.
- Separate the stinky beans (pete) from their pods.
