Simple Telor Balado Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 bunch of green beans
  • Beef or chicken liver (boiled)
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 ripe tomato
  • Spice Paste:
    • 20 bird’s eye chilies (adjust to taste)
    • 3 curly red chilies
    • 4 shallots
    • 2 garlic cloves
  • Water (as needed)
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Eggs:

    • Fry the eggs to your desired doneness. Set aside.
  2. Make the Spice Paste:

    • Blend or grind the shallots, garlic, bird’s eye chilies, and curly red chilies into a smooth paste.
  3. Cook the Spice Paste:

    • Heat oil in a pan and sauté the spice paste until the oil starts to separate and the paste slightly reduces.
  4. Add Ingredients:

    • Add water to the pan to create a sauce. Season with salt, sugar, and optional seasoning to taste.
  5. Incorporate Vegetables:

    • Add the chopped green beans and tomato to the pan. Cook until the beans are half tender.
  6. Combine Ingredients:

    • Gently fold in the fried eggs and boiled liver. Stir well to ensure the eggs and liver are evenly coated with the sauce.
  7. Finish with Basil:

    • Once the water has mostly evaporated and the sauce has thickened, add the fresh basil leaves. Allow it to wilt for a few minutes.
  8. Serve:

    • Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

This Telor Balado offers a delightful blend of spicy, savory, and slightly sweet flavors, perfect for a comforting meal.
