Balado Tuna & Tofu
Ingredients:
- 1 medium tuna, cut into 10 pieces
- 5 small tofu cubes
- 2 kaffir lime leaves
- Sugar and salt to taste
For the Spice Paste:
- 5 shallots
- 2 cloves garlic
- 10 red chilies
- 5 bird’s eye chilies
- 1 tomato
- 1 medium piece of palm sugar
Instructions:

Begin by cleaning the tuna pieces thoroughly. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tuna until fully cooked. Set aside.

Cut the tofu into small cubes and fry them until they become crispy. Drain and set aside.

For the spice paste, blend together the shallots, garlic, red chilies, bird’s eye chilies, tomato, and palm sugar until you achieve a smooth paste.

Heat a little oil in a pan, then sauté the spice paste until fragrant. Add the kaffir lime leaves, sugar, and salt to taste. Pour in enough water to create a sauce.

Add the fried tuna and tofu to the pan. Stir well, allowing the mixture to simmer until the sauce thickens and the flavors are well combined.
