Spicy Beef, Broccoli, and Young Corn Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
- 1/4 kg (about 8 oz) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, sliced thinly
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 3 young corn cobs, sliced
- 5 red bird’s eye chilies
- 5 green bird’s eye chilies
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Marinade:
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 packet of Ladaku (or your preferred seasoning blend)
Steps:
-
Marinate the Beef: Begin by slicing the beef sirloin into thin strips. Place the sliced beef in a bowl and add the sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and Ladaku seasoning. Mix well until the beef is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
-
Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, prepare your vegetables. Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Slice the young corn cobs and set aside. Thinly slice the onion and finely chop the garlic.
-
Cook the Beef: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 1 minute, or until the beef starts to brown.
-
Add the Vegetables: Toss in the sliced bird’s eye chilies, broccoli florets, and young corn. Stir-fry the mixture until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes.
-
Finish the Dish: Add the sliced onion and butter to the skillet. Continue to stir-fry until the onions are translucent and the butter has melted, incorporating all the flavors. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
-
Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy your spicy beef, broccoli, and young corn stir-fry hot from the pan.
This dish brings together tender slices of beef, crunchy broccoli, and sweet young corn in a spicy, savory sauce that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
