Black Pepper Beef Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • Thinly sliced beef
  • Garlic, minced
  • Ginger, sliced
  • Onion, sliced
  • Red and green chilies, sliced
  • Cornstarch, dissolved in water
  • Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • Soy sauce
  • White and black pepper
  • Seasoning (optional)
  • Salt

Steps:

  1. Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with minced garlic and soy sauce. Let it marinate for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. Sauté Aromatics:
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic, sliced ginger, and sliced onion. Sauté until fragrant and the onions are translucent.

  3. Cook the Beef:
Add the marinated beef to the pan. Season with white pepper, black pepper, sweet soy sauce, and seasoning (if using). Cook until the beef is tender, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add Chilies and Thicken Sauce:
Once the beef is cooked and the sauce has reduced, add the sliced red and green chilies. Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.

  5. Final Adjustments:
Cook for an additional few minutes until the sauce has reached your desired consistency and the chilies are slightly softened. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.

  6. Serve:
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles, and enjoy your flavorful Black Pepper Beef Stir-Fry!

This dish combines the richness of beef with the aromatic punch of garlic, ginger, and the heat of chilies, all enveloped in a savory and slightly sweet sauce. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal!
