Tumis Tempe Cabe Ijo (Sautéed Tempe with Green Chili)

Ingredients

Tempe 250 grams
Green chili 3-5 pieces
Shallots 1 medium
Soy sauce (Kecap Sauri) 2 tablespoons
Sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis) 1 tablespoon
Salt To taste
Cooking oil For frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Slice the tempe into rectangular pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tempe until it’s half-cooked or to your liking. Drain and set aside.

  2. Chop Vegetables: Finely chop the shallots and green chili according to your preference.

  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a clean frying pan, heat a little oil. Once hot, add the chopped shallots and green chili. Sauté until they are slightly softened.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the pre-fried tempe to the pan. Pour in the soy sauce (Kecap Sauri) and a splash of sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis). Season with salt to taste.

  5. Stir and Serve: Mix everything well and cook for a few more minutes until the flavors meld. Your Tumis Tempe Cabe Ijo is now ready to be served!
