Make the Green Chilli Paste:
In a blender, add the green chilies, garlic, ginger, fresh coriander, and onions. Grind them into a smooth paste. Set this aside in a separate bowl. -
Prepare the Tomato Paste:
In the same blender, add the chopped tomatoes with a little water and blend them into a smooth puree. Set aside. -
Cooking the Chicken:
Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the cloves and cinnamon stick. Let them fry for about a minute to release their fragrance. -
Add the Green Chilli Paste:
Now, add the green chili paste into the pan and sautรฉ it for about 2 minutes until the oil starts to separate from the paste and the spices become aromatic. -
Cook the Chicken:
Add the marinated chicken to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until the chicken changes color and begins to cook through. -
Add the Tomato Puree:
Pour in the prepared tomato puree, stir well, and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes. The tomato and spice mixture will start to thicken. -
Season the Dish:
Add the coriander powder and salt to taste. Stir everything together and let it cook for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. -
Simmer with Water:
Now, add about half a cup of water to the pan. Cover and cook on medium heat for another 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender. -
Serve:
Once the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove from heat. Serve hot with dal fry and steamed rice for a complete meal.
