Ingredients:

1 1/2 – 2 Halibut steaks
Salt
Fresh ground pepper
3 Tomatoes
1/2 Green pepper
1/2 Onion
1 Jalapeno
3 Butter
1 1/2 Lemon juice
1 Tabasco sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
  2. Lightly butter a shallow baking dish large enough to place the fish in one layer.
  3. Season halibut steaks with salt and fresh ground pepper, then place them in the baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix together chopped tomatoes, green pepper, onion, and jalapeno. Spoon this mixture on top of each fish steak.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in lemon juice and Tabasco sauce. Drizzle this flavorful sauce over each fish steak.
  6. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, basting the fish with pan juices about every 10 minutes to keep it moist and flavorful.
  7. Note: If you have closer to 2 pounds of fish steaks, feel free to double the sauce mixture for extra flavor!
