Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
- Lightly butter a shallow baking dish large enough to place the fish in one layer.
- Season halibut steaks with salt and fresh ground pepper, then place them in the baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together chopped tomatoes, green pepper, onion, and jalapeno. Spoon this mixture on top of each fish steak.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in lemon juice and Tabasco sauce. Drizzle this flavorful sauce over each fish steak.
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes, basting the fish with pan juices about every 10 minutes to keep it moist and flavorful.
