- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Small chili peppers, to taste
- 1/2 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Steps:
-
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Begin by slicing the onion and mincing the garlic. Set them aside.
-
Sauté the Aromatics:
- Heat a pan and add a little oil or, for a richer flavor, use butter.
- Sauté the onion and garlic until they become soft and fragrant.
-
Cook the Beef:
- Add the sliced beef to the pan and stir-fry until it is almost cooked through but still tender. Avoid overcooking to keep the beef juicy.
-
Add the Sauces and Seasonings:
- Mix in the chili sauce, tomato sauce, sweet soy sauce, and oyster sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If you like it extra spicy, add sliced small chili peppers or a sprinkle of chili flakes.
- Incorporate the sliced bell pepper for added texture and flavor.
-
Prepare the Egg:
- In a separate small pan, cook the egg by scrambling it lightly.
- Add the scrambled egg to the beef mixture. This will enhance the texture and richness of the dish.
-
Simmer:
- Add a small amount of water to the pan and reduce the heat to low.
- Allow the mixture to simmer until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
-
Serve:
- Once the sauce has reduced and the dish is well-cooked, remove it from the heat.
- Serve your spicy beef stir-fry hot, accompanied by steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
